Clay Coffins by StoatLad Clay Coffins by StoatLad
I made this coffin in mid-2006 as part of a beginning ceramics class during my senior year in high school. The cross on the lid is a tracing of a generic design that I found on the 'Net and carved in by hand. Red iron oxide was rubbed into the depressions left by the carving, and the coffin was smoke fired in a barrel of sawdust. The pictures of the raven and the Valknut (triangles) were going to be carved into the coffin that's shown to be in progress, and still will be if I ever finish it.

I know that this isn't the type of picture that you'd expect to be put up as a deviation, but sadly the display quality pictures have been lost.
